Hi! My name is Margaret and I’m originally from California, where I grew up swimming competitively and playing water polo. My love for the water led me to teaching swim lessons, lifeguarding, and coaching for a competitive team at my local community pool. During this time I quickly realized how much I enjoyed working with kids to teach new skills.
I discovered my interest in education and decided to change my major from Business Administration to Elementary Education, which is a decision I’ve never regretted! Many of the skills I’ve developed in the classroom, such as patience, adaptability, and creating engaging learning environments, have translated directly into my work as a swim instructor.
As someone who was once a nervous swimmer myself, I understand how intimidating the water can feel for some children. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where kids feel safe, build confidence, and learn at their own pace. My goal is to help each swimmer not only develop strong water safety skills, but also have fun and gain a lifelong comfort in the water. I have experience working with swimmers of all ages and abilities, and I truly believe that anyone can learn to swim with the right support and guidance!
